Current Weather Conditions in India

IMD Weather LIVE Updates: Numerous states are currently experiencing a new wave of rainfall, with some regions facing heavy downpours, thunderstorms, and strong winds. Pre-monsoon activities have been noted in various areas, providing much-needed relief from the ongoing heatwave. However, cities like Bengaluru are grappling with severe rainfall that has disrupted daily life significantly over the past few days.

The situation in Bengaluru has become critical as the drainage system struggles to manage the overwhelming amount of rainwater. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a 'yellow' alert for Bengaluru and 22 other districts in Karnataka, effective until May 22. Furthermore, the weather agency has forecasted favorable conditions for the onset of the monsoon in Kerala within the next 4-5 days. Persistent rain and thunderstorms are also expected across South Peninsular India, West India, Northeast India, Northwest India, as well as East and Central India in the coming days.

Light to moderate rainfall, along with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds, is anticipated in Himachal Pradesh on the 23rd and 24th, Uttarakhand from the 21st to the 26th, and in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan from the 21st to the 26th of May. Additionally, rainfall is expected in Kerala and Mahe, Karnataka over the next week, with coastal Karnataka experiencing rain on the 22nd, 25th, and 26th, and North Interior Karnataka on the 21st, while South Interior Karnataka will see rain on the 25th and 26th of May.
